I have decided to go with Wordpress. It seems to have more flexibility than Blogger, although it does have some curious shortcomings. Why being able to make a few changes to my style sheet is a “Custom Upgrade” is a mystery to me. If they need more money to keep the service operating, why don’t they just charge a small annual fee? Anyway, I found a template that is suitable for me. With the next post I’ll get down to business.

For the first few days (weeks?) I’ll be using this blog to learn how to use WordPress. I will also be comparing it to other blog hosts, like Blogger, Living Dot and Type Pad. I already see a problem. Why the @#$!&% is the text so small in this posting window (Write Post) and there doesn’t appear to be any way to make it larger — at least not an obvious one.

These early posts won’t be that interesting, but bear with me for a few days and I will try to do a lot better with the content.
